A collection of rarities, b-sides and oddities from the vaults, most of them never before available digitally. We've made these recordings free if you want them but anything donated for them will be gratefully received and will directly go to paying for album 3 which we are literally in the studio finishing now.
'Where Youth' was only available on Howling Owl's compilation 'Music is Dead' released on RSD in 2013. Limited to 100 copies on vinyl, the track is a slow burning catharsis that builds before collapsing in a squall of noise. We'd like to think it was a glimmer of what we were about to record with the 'Hunger' EP.
'Bug In Amber' appeared on Howling Owl's 2012 compilation released on RSD and only available via independent record shop Rise or online. Limited to 100 copies on 12" vinyl.
'Sooky Eyeball' is the B-side to the original recording of 'The Sky Of All Places' and was released via Too Pure Records in 2014 as part of their singles club. Limited to 250 copies. Adrian animated a video for this which is well worth hunting down on youtube.
'Stealed Scene' is our cover version of Lorelle Meets The Obsoletes' 'Sealed Scene' which appeared on the Sonic Cathedral / Howling Owl split 7" titles RSD is Dying. Limited to 365 copies, one was released everyday from RSD 2015 through to RSD 2016. Given away for free in weird places, or on sale in independent record shops around the world where the shop would take 100% of the money. This was a lovely project where we were hoping to raise concerns about the hijacking of RSD by major labels, forcing out little indies from both the market and the pressing plants. We were fed to the wolves by most of the RSD advocates, ironically all of whom now have spoken out against RSD themselves. LOL
'The Heights' & 'Torture Board' formed both sides of the Dark Habits Halloween 10" release from 2016. It sold out in a few hours and is one of our favourite packages. An early appearance of our now tour Dad / sound Dad Nick in the video too.
'Wonderful Christmas Time' is our cover of Paul Mccartney's xmas hit, initially commissioned by 6music for their Christmas special, before they blacklisted us for upsetting Sam Smith. We released it on lathe cut 7" with polaroids of the boy in various places around Bristol. Think there were about 20 of them ever, not sure. An industrial and terrifying monster.
Absolutely check out this record. It's one of the superior psychedelic rock albums you're likely to hear this year. It's progressive and utilizes synths and guitars in a way that truly unite their powers to an explosive effect. I did not expect this album to be this magnificent. It's equal parts Kraftwerk, Black Moth, and Pink Floyd. Camryn Marquez
